I couldn’t have asked for a better trip to Le Mas de Peint. It was quiet and relaxing, the property is stunning, and the food was always outstanding. The service felt impeccable and so hospitable. I’ll definitely return. Make sure you go horseback riding!

We chose the Junior suite “Elegance” with its outside terrace, and it suited us perfectly. The bedroom is large, as is the terrace, where we spent most of our time outdoors. The staff were excellent, and the food was delicious, on par with a 1 star Michelin meal for a very reasonable price. If you want somewhere simple and quiet that feels like home, with staff who are there for you, this is the place.

We had a wonderful romantic break on this secluded 550 hectare working farm. It has traditional Camargue bulls and horses, though sadly no flamingos. The spacious loft suite was beautiful, the pool gorgeous, and the service absolutely impeccable. Dinner was a delicious set menu with superb wine and a talented chef, thanks, Margot! We had lots of fun on the jeep ride with Richard and learned about the property and its natural bounty. Numa, the darling German pointer, will happily join you on walks and may even flop down for a nap in your room. It’s a great base for exploring everything Camargue has to offer, and we’re already planning our next stay.

The food was what made our stay at le Mas de Peint so memorable. We’d only planned one night, but Chef Juan Ipuz’s cooking blew us away, so we changed our plans and stayed another. His dishes were creative and artistic, beautiful to look at, and a feast for the palate and soul. Everything was perfectly made, beautifully plated and delicious. The kitchen garden keeps the ingredients fresh and seasonal. Even the amuse bouche showed his sense of humor, one night it was a tiny, adorable, utterly delicious “hamburger.” The young kitchen team was energetic and gentle in its work. Chef’s sous-chef, whose name I’m sorry to say I’ve forgotten, and the wait staff, the lovely Tyfen and her colleague Margot, ran service. They were hardworking and charming. Tyfen knew the wines and pairings so well, and both women kept the kitchen tidy and organized while working incredibly hard. We were lucky enough to sit in the kitchen and see dinner service from behind the scenes. We spent two wonderful days at this beautiful converted farmhouse. Its decor is warm and elegant without being fussy. We stayed in two rooms, both with comfortable beds, plush linens, towels, bathrobes and guest amenities. The grand rooms around the hotel are lovely places to relax and read the many books scattered about. Outside there’s a gorgeous pool set among lawns, mature landscaping and huge trees, along with a small lake and a large kitchen garden. The people made us feel just as welcome. Monsieur Bon, the owner, introduced himself at dinner one evening, a personal touch we appreciated. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Vincent was especially engaging, with useful ideas for exploring the region and a deep knowledge of local bull and horse traditions. Everyone at the desk was warm and accommodating. We can’t thank le Mas de Peint and the staff enough for making this one of the most pleasant parts of our trip to France. We hope to return in autumn. Merci, Merci, Merci!

We stayed in the terrasse room and loved the huge pool, the beautiful garden, and all the affection from the dogs living on the property. Parking was easy and on site. The restaurant serves dinner on a lovely terrace under the grape trees, and there are vegetarian options. Breakfast is a buffet in the kitchen. One thing to be ready for: there are mosquitoes in the evening, with a large water basin near the main building. Also, food was left uncovered and the flies were landing on it in big numbers. A simple cover would help keep it fresh.
