We walked from the train station in about 20 minutes, which may not suit everyone but was manageable for us. Once there, the location made it easy to get around on foot and pop back to our room between activities. The manager was friendly and helpful, and our room was clean and cozy. You can see that updates have been made where needed, while the old building has kept its charm. There isn't an elevator, just stairs, as with many hotels in France. They can be steep with luggage if you're not ready for the climb, though we had no trouble.

Hotel Amphetheatre was such a nice place to stay. Our room was a good size and nicely furnished, and the location is hard to beat: right by the arena and restaurants, in the middle of everything but still quiet. Fabrice at the front desk was incredibly kind and helpful. Merci beaucoup!

It's a great base for walking around the city, with spacious rooms and friendly, helpful staff. If you're arriving by car, contact the hotel ahead of time so you can unload your luggage. Breakfast was fair, though the choice was limited. The baked pastries and boiled eggs were cold, as if they had been prepared earlier. Also, most rooms can only be reached by stairs.

The old building is full of character and very well maintained. Inside, the rooms are simple, but comfortable and equipped with enough amenities. The hotel sits in the heart of the old city, so most of the many attractions in and around this beautiful city are easy to reach on foot. I was very impressed.

The staff made us feel so welcome and were incredibly accommodating. We loved our comfortable, well-appointed suite in this beautiful boutique hotel, right in the heart of the city. It's only a short walk to great restaurants and the sights. We'd happily stay here again.
