We picked it for the short trip to Dieppe and the Newhaven ferry. The staff were fabulous, and the welcome and food lived up to that. Someone on a rival site called the place “tired opulence.” I think that’s a beautiful way to put it, and not unkind given the property dates from the 1500s or thereabouts.

The restaurant and food were fantastic, and the gardens were every bit as stunning as I remembered. This was our second visit, and things had improved. The rooms have lovely character, the setting is lovely, and the owners and staff made us feel so welcome.

The rooms were very clean, the beds comfortable, and the place quiet, with a nice garden and a delicious breakfast. We arrived late in the evening, but were warmly welcomed and served delicious foie gras, local cheese, and great wine. Brigitte and her team were wonderful hosts. We’ll be back!

There’s plenty of parking, and the place feels safe and cozy while still being big and spacious. My one-year-old daughter loved the gorgeous palace, where so much thought and care had gone into our stay. The ladies were patient and understanding about my terrible French as I butchered their language. We had tasty food in the restaurant that evening, then relaxed with wine on the terrace. My only regret is not staying longer. We plan to return next year for our honeymoon and a longer visit.

The rooms are basic but cute, and the food is superb. It’s a charming manor with a beautiful garden, friendly staff, and a very welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended.
