Really good value for money, with welcoming staff. Great restaurant!

The bathroom has a tub shower that feels like an accident waiting to happen. The seafront setting is beautiful and the staff were attentive, but after two nights I’d call the stay acceptable rather than recommend it. Dinner was overpriced. The only rosé offered was a bottle of Cote de Provence Rose at €60, which was excellent but expensive. The Lieu Jaune entree was tiny and cost €28. Thanks for your reply below. To clarify, I didn’t say everything was fine when I left last week, because nobody asked. The wine list I was given showed just one bottle of Rose, priced at €60, so there was no misunderstanding on my part.

We only tried the restaurant, not the hotel. It’s a comfortable place in a beautiful location, with amazing views of the point of Arradon. The food was generally very good, and we had some really tasty dishes, though a few combinations didn’t quite work for us, like goat’s cheese ice cream with strawberry pavlova. Several of us had the rump steak, and it was a bit chewy even though we’d asked for it rare. That was disappointing given the level of food the restaurant is aiming for. Some of the service let the meal down. A young man brought most of our food and drinks, but seemed uninterested and a little condescending. We’d have appreciated a smile. When staff take the wine away to pour instead of leaving it on the table, they should make sure glasses don’t stay empty for too long. Another man who seemed to be a manager could have been friendlier and more gracious. The female restaurant staff and reception staff were pleasant.

The service went downhill in the second part of the meal and didn’t meet our expectations, which put a damper on a lunch meant to celebrate an important moment in our lives. We’d been before, and the location is great. The food was very good, though you need to like fish. The blue lobster was tasty but expensive. At the start, our waitress was very good and spoke immaculate French and English. Her male colleague was less good. We never got the third wine in the Trio, had to ask twice for coffee, and received no apology.

The fish was spot on, crisp-skinned and delicious, and the service was friendly. Every table in the restaurant looks out over the bay, a lovely view to enjoy with a glass of wine. The rest of the food was good, though uneven: portions were too large, some ingredients didn’t work together, and a few things were too sour or underseasoned. We were disappointed that there was no wine pairing, which we’d expect at an upscale restaurant. When we asked about it, they made fun of us, not realizing we understood some French. The four-course medium menu, wine and a bottle of water came to 260 Euros. This review is only about the restaurant.
