For a sea view, ask for one of the small but comfortable first-floor rooms 8, 9, or 10. We had a nice week at the Martray. Lunch has an appealing menu and the food is okay. Bikes are available if you book them.

The road outside the hotel is incredibly busy, and Ars en Re is a 40-minute walk away. The beach is just across the road, but it isn't somewhere you'd spend a whole beach day. My mother and I stayed five nights in a room with a balcony, though both the room and bathroom were tiny. The team were welcoming, enthusiastic, and charming. With the restaurant closed Sunday and Monday, the place felt a bit deserted. We didn't find it entirely comfortable, and the distance to town and traffic were drawbacks.

Prices were very reasonable, and the service in both the hotel and restaurant was excellent. We also loved the terrace restaurant and its delicious fresh seafood.

We stopped in for dinner and had excellent fresh tuna caught off the island's coast. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and it's a great place to relax and grab a bite.

We visited in July 2017. The restaurant was surprisingly good, with better quality for the price than nearby options, though the interior could use a redesign. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and the sea view was lovely. Friendly staff, a decent breakfast, and the beach just across the road made for a great location. Recommended.
