We arrived at 5pm and found the hotel completely empty. After searching for someone to check us in, calling three different numbers, and even sending an email, we gave up at 6pm. It was frightening, unsettling, and so frustrating. I had prepaid £138.41 three months earlier for our one night on 25/8/2025, and I'm still trying to get my money back.

For the price, this is a great find in the French countryside. The staff, rooms, and location were all perfect.

A handy place to stop on the way to Spain, and both the food and breakfast were fine. The keys were ready when we arrived around 5:15 PM, but nobody was at reception. The bar was meant to open at 5:30 PM and didn't until about 6:00 PM. Our room had no electricity, though that was fixed fairly quickly. In the morning, we and some other guests wanted to leave around 8:15 AM, but nobody was there to check us out. He was taking the children to school, and that took 25 minutes. With better staff presence, this could be quite a good hotel.

Johan gave us a really warm welcome, and the place is very quiet. It's a convenient stop between Belgium and the south, either way, and the prices are reasonable compared with the big budget chains. The grounds were renovated for the Olympics, so everything is brand new. We recommend it!

The meals and breakfast were delicious, and we had a perfect stay. The room was clean and nicely furnished, with magnificent decor inside. A lovely setting and a very friendly welcome. I highly recommend it.
