Hôtel Kyriad Libourne - Saint Emilion

The room was tiny, with barely any room to move, and the bathroom was just as small. The furniture is old, though at least the mattress was comfortable. I got bed bug bites on my legs the first night, but after we changed rooms, I didn't get any more. It feels expensive for what you get. We didn't try the restaurant.

The food and service were fine, and we had a pleasant evening at the hotel restaurant. The problem came with the final bill. We ordered dinner and drinks, and one person had the 3 course diner for 27 euro, but was also charged for each course separately. That left a two euro difference on the bill. We pointed it out, but the staff only said it was “only two euro” and still made us pay the extra 2 euro. For me, the principle matters. A good host should work out the bill correctly. It's unfortunate, because this kind of business makes you lose trust. Check your bill. Otherwise I'd have given a much better score, but not being fair and correct counts seriously for me.

The restaurant was clean and pleasant, and the food was delicious. The rooms are nice, clean and tidy, with everything needed for a business trip. I was disappointed by the corridor carpet, which felt sticky and smelled bad as I walked to the room, so it made a poor first impression. Once I saw the room, I forgot about it. One small complaint: the chef suggestion menu was only in French, and it would be nice to have an English translation.
