Hôtel Restaurant La Marbrerie

We were really unhappy with the meal and won't return. It cost more than what we paid in Carcassonne, where the food was five times better. My duck was extremely dry, and nobody asked whether we were satisfied. The mojito had no mint, and we weren't given any water at the table. The foie gras tapas portion was bigger than the foie gras main dish. The cheese tapas turned out to be goat cheese, which the menu hadn't mentioned, a problem if you don't eat goat cheese. It was far too expensive for what we got.

This pleasant restaurant is close to the centre of Caunes-Minervois, with good food at fair prices. The menu terroir has enough choice for most people, service was quick and efficient, and the wine list had a decent bottle at an acceptable price.

The historic hotel is exquisite, and the rooms feel like works of art. The staff were exceptionally accommodating. The building used to house a marble fabricating shop, known for marble used at Versailles.

I didn't stay at the hotel, just went there to eat. The food and drinks were very good, with generous portions for a reasonable price. The restaurant is in the city and is a good place to eat.
