I ended up at Hôtel du Donjon out of necessity, and found another favorite. It’s a small, charming hotel, thoughtfully put together and clearly run with a lot of care. My room was clean, comfortable, and tastefully furnished, and I felt at home straight away. There’s a peaceful garden and a small restaurant with very good food. Breakfast was fantastic and generous. The price isn’t aimed at pilgrims, which I understood, but it felt fair for what you get. I was traveling alone in September 2020 and only stayed one night, but I came away with a very positive impression.

There was hardly anyone around, so there was no service at all. Breakfast was no longer available at 9:07, and my room wasn’t cleaned during the four nights I had to stay. I couldn’t find anyone the evening before I left or the next morning, so I left my address and asked them to send their IBAN so I could pay. They refused and were very rude about it. Never again.

A taste of the French countryside in a small town. The old building has been renovated well, and there’s a lovely garden in the courtyard. The owners were friendly.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the hotel is right in the center. The host was very helpful, and breakfast was great.

A good choice for the night. There’s a nearby bistro with good food, and the pub close by has tasty drinks and a nice atmosphere.
