Auberge De La Tour

I came for the restaurant! Being surrounded by nature gives the place an amazing atmosphere, and the old-style terrace is lovely. It’s really close to the city center too, with an interesting market in the morning and a children’s Carousel in the evening.

Such a charming restaurant. Dinner was fantastic, every bit of it delicious, and the service went way above and beyond. I couldn’t recommend it more.

The place looks appealing from outside, and the staff are friendly. But if you like to take your time over dinner, this probably isn’t for you. Once seated, it felt like we were just a number and they wanted the table free for the next customers as soon as possible. Several waiters checked whether we’d chosen within the first five minutes. The food came so fast after ordering that it almost seemed pre-made. After the main course, we asked for the dessert menu, and in less than three minutes they’d asked at least twice if we’d decided. We were back outside within 50 minutes. It looks like a nice restaurant, but the rushed experience left it feeling more like fast food.

I only ate at Auberge De La Tour, though I understand it’s also a hotel. The meal was very nice, and the friendly staff had a good range of dishes at quite affordable prices. If you like sweet desserts, I’d suggest the profiterole. It was a little too sweet for me, but still tasty 👌
