Hôtel du Palais

Our group of nine stayed here for the UTPMA Trail race. The hotel was close to both race HQ and town, and the staff made us feel welcome from the first day. They were happy to help with anything we needed. We’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting this lovely town.

The room was spacious, spotless, and tastefully decorated, with a very comfortable bed. I was here on a business trip and found the service and design really comfortable. The hotel is quiet and right in the center of Aurillac, the staff were attentive and helpful, and breakfast had a good range to choose from.

Pauline handled my late arrival very professionally. She explained everything clearly by phone, and the welcome was excellent. The room was clean and nicely renovated, though a bit small, which was fine for a one-night stop. The heating was set too low, so the room felt cold when it was already freezing outside at 9 pm. Worse, the breakfast room was icy in the morning. Breakfast itself was much too basic, with little choice and small servings, and we had to ask the waitress for more coffee and other items. It didn’t match the standard of the establishment, and the stay felt let down by these things. In my view, the room price wasn’t justified.

Breakfast had plenty of variety and included local products. The staff were friendly and very helpful, and the rooms have been tastefully renovated with good soundproofing. Parking costs a small extra amount, so remember to book it ahead. Guests with reduced mobility should know that rooms are reached only by stairs.
