The room was basic and reasonably clean, but we could only ventilate it by leaving the door open. For what we paid, the accommodation felt poor value. It might scrape a 3 if it had been cheap. Check-in was only from 6pm to 8pm, and nobody answered the phone before then. We stayed 18 April 2019. The bar restaurant was closed indefinitely at the time. The twin room we’d booked wasn’t ready until about 7pm, just as we were heading to a reserved restaurant table in Thoiry. We showered in a double room and were told we could move into the twin when we got back. Instead, they accepted a booking for the double room and moved our belongings themselves. The woman who let us in and helped untangle the owner's mix-up was friendly and helpful. She challenged the owner by phone, but we never got an apology.

Fresh ingredients and authentic food, with friendly service in a cozy atmosphere. A small hidden gem.

Handy for people traveling on foot, since the place is close to the road.

The hanger steak was tender, nicely seasoned, and very good. The rib-eye was a different story: €28 for 300g, quite fatty, with mediocre fries that may have been frozen. The food was decent overall, but not exceptional, and very (very) expensive for this level of cooking. The Béarnaise sauce was probably homemade and may have been the best part. We waited almost 30 minutes for someone to take our order, with what seemed like a serious staff shortage. The brasserie is in a pleasant neighborhood, but the servers came across as neither particularly friendly nor unfriendly. Desserts were okay, though pricey and nothing special. I especially wouldn’t recommend the floating island, which was filled with pralines or hard candies and probably had far too much orange blossom water.

The setting is lovely, and the rooms were adequate, but the bedspreads were barely clean and the blankets had been replaced with simple throws. There weren’t any windows, just a French door that served as the entrance. In hot weather, it couldn’t be opened. The reception was unpleasant. We had called to ask for several rooms to be ready from 2 pm for a 3 pm ceremony, but when we arrived at 1:50 pm they refused to check us in, even though the person was there talking to us through a window. Such a shame given the setting.
