The tourist office is well worth visiting, and Madame Rivière’s advice helped me make the most of my time in Auvillar. She’s such a lovely host that you feel at home right away. Thanks again for being so kind! 🙂

The room was clean, the food was good, and the price felt fair. Ms. Rivière is warm and attentive to her guests, and she’s passionate about mosaics too.

I’d advise pilgrims to steer clear. The room had no extra heating, and with the bathroom and kitchen shared, I ended up eating dinner under the covers in my room so I wouldn’t catch a bad cold. I was given a basin for a foot bath, but a glass of water with syrup would have been welcome. Breakfast was disappointing too, though fresh bread would have been fine. In my view, this place should focus on renting rooms to guests rather than hosting pilgrims.

Maite welcomed us so warmly, and was generous with her hospitality. The room was clean and lovely, and breakfast was plentiful. The house is beautiful, with a magnificent garden.
