The rooms were spotless and had everything we needed, and the location was stunning. The building has a fascinating past, with parts dating to the 12th century and a link to a famous knight’s order. Each morning’s breakfast was delicious, with a nice range of choices. We didn’t get a chance to use the spa, but it looked amazing and gives us a reason to come back. Most of all, the owners and staff made us feel at home from the minute we arrived. They shared their lovely hotel and spa, along with their affection for the country, its culture, food, and local history. Their sweet, friendly dog made our stay even more special. We really didn’t want to leave. A big thank you to everyone, including the pup. Your Canadian guests will remember you!

We all had a great time in the spa, sauna, and steam room, and we’ll definitely come back. The hotel is beautiful and peaceful, right beside a creek, with great modern amenities. The owner and all the staff were incredibly kind, and that includes Tessa the dog. A lovely find in France!

Since my last visit, they’ve added a spa with a sauna and hot tub, looking out over the river and surrounding nature. The rooms are clean and have modern amenities, and the restaurant serves great food along with its house Burgundy wines. It’s a charming, rustic hotel and restaurant in the heart of la vallée du Cousin, one of the most beautiful valleys in the world. It used to be a flour mill, which you can tell from the waterwheel attached to the main building.

We could have stayed longer, and maybe come back in the summer. The hotel sits in an idyllic setting, with a pleasant walk along the river starting right outside. We chose a small room, but the bathroom was a good size and had a tub. Everything was impeccably clean, and I slept really well in the comfortable bed.

The hotel and spa looked impressive, but we only ate dinner at the restaurant. It felt more geared toward hotel guests than locals, so don't expect a busy local French place. The room had a somewhat restrained mood and felt a bit cold. The menu had lots of vegetarian choices and organic produce, in keeping with the wellness feel of the hotel and spa. Food selection and service were simple, neither great nor bad. If you're after traditional, hearty French cooking and a taste of the local area, this may not be the right spot.
