Bed And Breakfast Face Au Palais

The window looked out toward the Palais des Papes, which was a wonderful view. The hotel is an ornate, old place dating back to the 18th century, and I enjoyed the novelty of staying in a room more than 200 years old. That said, the room was a little small and not very comfortable, given the age of the building.

The room was clean and comfortable, with a large bathroom and big, fluffy towels. We could see the palais from our room, and the hotel's location is hard to beat. It did get quite noisy on our side of the building at night and early in the morning, though that added to the lively feel. I'd confidently recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Avignon.

From our window, we could see the front of the Palais des Papes, and the square is practically right below you. The location makes it easy to walk to the clock square, the Pont of Avignon, and just about any restaurant. There's ice cream and several places to eat only yards from the entrance. Inside, the exposed beams and stone walls give it charm, and there's an elevator if you need one. The rooms are small, but clean and nicely fitted, with good tile and a few elegant touches. It's not fancy or expensive, which is exactly what we wanted. I really like this hotel, though the entrance and reception can give the wrong impression: the doors are covered in unnecessary stickers, and the decor at reception made me think we were walking into a brothel.

We chose the hotel for convenience, since stepping outside puts you right in the square of the Palais des papes. The staff turned out to be very friendly, and our room had a lot of charm. It felt historic and beautiful, but also had air conditioning, a useful modern comfort. We were thoroughly happy with our stay. Thank you!
