We had a spacious room in the building's extension, with a large window and a comfortable bed, and stayed for two nights. Secure parking was a real plus. It filled up every evening, but we always found a space. My one complaint is the pool area. The pool wasn't very clean, and some of the chairs were broken.

The rooms were clean, the hotel was comfortable, and reception staff were helpful. The pool was okay, though it could've been cleaner. Avoid the restaurant. Our food arrived very soon after we ordered and was undercooked. We had to send it back, along with a wine glass that was dirty and broken.

The neighborhood didn't feel safe to walk around, and the hotel is a 10-15 minute drive from Avignon's city center. We had to call a taxi each day to get into town. There was no AC in our room, and we sweated every night. Staff said AC only comes on during the hot months, even though it was warm for us in mid-April. We opened the patio door to cool the room, but that let in tons of mosquitoes. I left with about 20 bites. This was the worst place we stayed during our 30-day European honeymoon, and definitely wasn't worth it.

The staff were the highlight of our stay. They were warm with us and always ready to help. We ended up making a very late reservation for four nights after a major problem with another accommodation. Our room was small for three people, but it had everything we needed, including great AC for the hot weather. Breakfast was tasty, and we enjoyed the dinner we had at the hotel one evening. We had a great stay at the Best Western Plus Le Lavarin!

A typical Best Western with nice staff, a pool, and free parking, which is unusual for a 4-star hotel. They also had free patisserie in the morning.
