Bristol Hotel

The hotel is conveniently placed near the train station and city center, making Avignon easy to explore. It could still use some maintenance and improvements, but staff members like Alaa and Jeremy made the stay memorable. We had a very positive three-night visit, and the reception team kept the atmosphere warm throughout. After a major train delay, we arrived around 1:00 AM exhausted from a long journey. Alaa, on the evening-to-morning shift, welcomed us kindly and professionally and made check-in smooth and stress-free. The next day Jeremy was friendly and helpful too. He stored our luggage on the last day, gave us water, and helped arrange breakfast. Alaa deserves special recognition. During our stay it was Eid, one of the most important Muslim holidays, comparable in importance to Christmas for many families. He worked the entire night shift with energy and a positive attitude, then said he'd only sleep a couple of hours before celebrating with his wife and children. I was struck by his dedication and outlook. He spoke proudly about his Yemeni roots and his new life in France. Because of the ongoing war in Yemen, France had become his home, and he repeatedly expressed gratitude for the country, its history, culture, and people. He talked passionately about contributing to France, improving himself, learning more French, advancing at work, and raising his children to value respect, integration, hard work, and both their original identity and their new country. Meeting someone with that much motivation, gratitude, professionalism, and love for his work was inspiring. Stories like his go beyond a hotel review. Staff like Alaa reflect the welcoming spirit visitors hope to find and leave a lasting impression of the hotel, city, and country. We plan to share our positive impressions in this review and with tourism representatives connected to Avignon, Provence, and French tourism institutions.
