ibis Avignon Sud

I accidentally booked my room twice, and Andrea was so sweet and helpful in sorting it out. My stay at Ibis Avignon Sud was fabulous. Great staff, and I highly recommend the hotel.

I was visiting Avignon and only needed somewhere to stay over, but the welcoming staff and accommodating service made this a highlight of my trip. The food, room, and overall service were all great. 👍

We spent two nights here while driving from Switzerland to Spain. The hotel is a few km from central Avignon in a retail and business park, not an area you might expect tourists to seek out. Even so, it felt tranquil, and the rooms blocked out noise so well that we couldn’t hear traffic or even the very noisy crickets. The rooms were small but clean, with nice white bedding. The bathrooms seemed recently renovated, and though small, they were modern and had nice products. The AC worked well and was much needed. We ate at the restaurant a few times, including breakfast, and the food was surprisingly good, especially the burger. There’s a small kids’ menu and some activities and games for children. The pool was a welcome way to cool off, though it looked a little tired and needed a good clean around the edges. The carpet on the shared stairs and hallways really needs replacing because it smelled unpleasant. I don’t know if that was because dogs are allowed, but the smell wasn’t nice even though the carpet looked clean. Nobody serviced our room during the two nights, which I would have expected. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, though two weren’t.

We were glad to finally find the hotel during an emergency stopover, though it’s not in the part of town a tourist would naturally look for. The bed was adequate, but the room was too small to get suitcases around easily. Reception wasn’t friendly, and after a long drive, even a smile would have been nice. That’s why I’ve only given two stars. Luckily the restaurant waitress was pleasant, and the meal was good for the price.
