La Demoiselle

The owners were wonderful. They arranged car services to and from the airport and for dinner outside town, then sent me confirmation on the day of our dinner. When I mentioned we’d miss breakfast on the first morning because of an early tour, they emailed to say a staff member would come in early to start it. We really appreciated that. It’s more of a B&B, so there’s no staff in the afternoons or evenings, but their phone number was listed and they were available by email. We booked the Jeannette suite and loved it. The room is quite large and comfortable, with a couch, spotless, and tastefully decorated. The bathroom is also big, though there isn’t much counter space if that matters to you. It has the hotel’s only terrace, which overlooks the glass-covered breakfast room. On the rainy night, we brought in wine and cheese for a little picnic on the covered, sheltered terrace. Breakfast each morning was continental style, with pastries, cakes, fruit, cheeses, delicious homemade yogurt, coffee, and oranges for fresh juice. I peeked into the other open, unoccupied rooms on our floor and the first floor, and they looked great too.

Violette made everything easy, from logistics to local recommendations, and her breakfast was simple and delicious. I especially loved the homemade yogurt. La Demoiselle is beautifully styled and spotless, with an ideal spot for exploring Avignon. Such a special place, I’d happily return.

We’d go back in a heartbeat. La Demoiselle is a beautifully renovated little boutique hotel, just a short walk from most things, on a quiet residential street. Violette and Lise were welcoming and full of useful information. My room felt airy and spacious, with lovely linen, a reading nook, and a clean, modern bathroom. The attention to detail showed throughout, and everything was spotless. Breakfast was lovely too, with great coffee, homemade yogurt, croissants, and more. There’s no elevator, but someone helped me with my bag.

After a day out in Avignon, it was lovely to come back to such a quiet spot. Lisa, the owner, was attentive and helpful, making sure we had what we needed. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, and breakfast stood out for its delicious homemade choices. La Demoiselle is right in the heart of the city, and I’d highly recommend it for a charming stay.
