Les Anges 1 - Suite Deluxe - Avignon

The apartment felt like a little jewelry box, full of actual gems. Les Anges Deluxe Avignon is wonderfully arranged and artistically decorated, with plenty of space and every amenity we could think of, including a fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher, and washing and drying machines. Nothing we needed was missing. It’s only minutes from the city center, yet on a pleasant, quiet street away from the tourist crowds. Stephan is an experienced, knowledgeable tour guide, historian and writer. We highly recommend him to anyone wanting to explore Provence’s rich history. We visited Avignon just a few days ago and had a wonderful stay. Thank you, Stephan!

Stephan made our four nights in Avignon the highlight of our anniversary trip to France. After months of planning Paris, Lyon and Avignon, we were so glad we found his property. The apartment and its location were wonderful, but it was Stephan who made the experience feel personal. He was helpful and communicative from our first planning conversation through our departure, and met us at the train station before seeing us off there too. His restaurant arrangements were all delightful, and every place we visited on his advice was worth it. We also spent two full days touring with him, one focused on history and one on wine. He’s a knowledgeable, engaging guide, and his stories brought the places we saw to life. Castles, Roman ruins, wineries and quintessential French villages all made the trip memorable. Thanks to Stephan, it really was the trip of a lifetime.

The host was incredibly helpful, and the location made it easy to explore Avignon. He even kept our car at his house and made it available whenever we wanted it. The apartment is beautifully decorated with distinctive art and gorgeous fabrics, and clearly set up for guests’ comfort, from the comfortable bed to the great shower. There was champagne, soft drinks, port, cognac, snacks, cookies, candy, tea and freshly ground coffee, all included. We’ve stayed in many private rentals over the years, and this one was light years ahead. An enormous pleasure, with nothing we wished had been better.

Stephan has hosting down to an art. By our second day, he felt like a local friend, and he was a great resource throughout our trip. His suggestions for restaurants, boulangeries and places around town were spot on, and he sometimes used his local connections to get us a special touch. We’ve rented holiday homes around the world for over a decade and have had some wonderful hosts we still visit, but he’s the most thoughtful one we’ve had. The flat itself is beautiful and carefully put together to make guests feel pampered. It’s quiet, has working AC, and is within walking distance of the town’s attractions. His tour is a must. We spent a memorable day with him learning about the area’s history and culture. This was our first time in Avignon, but we hope to return and stay here again. It books quickly.
