Les Studios de la Madeleine

The host messaged me asking me to fold the bed sheets and wash the floor before leaving, or I’d have to pay an extra 20€. But I’d already paid 20€ for the service when I arrived. Too expensive.

That little plunge pool was a hit with our daughter and a nice way to cool off. We spent six days at La Madeleine, and the spacious, air-conditioned studio was great for exploring the walled city. The only small drawback was the mosquitoes in the evenings. Thanks for a lovely stay.

The welcome was unpleasant, and the garden turned out to be a cramped courtyard with a small pool that’s also used for parking. Our studio looked straight at a wall, with no horizon, and the rooms need updating. We were booked for August 11th to 19th, but left on August 12th. The owner was unpleasant and dishonest. She refused to refund us and also kept the deposit, which she won’t return.

I booked with the late arrival option, but at 8:30 PM the manager called to say she was canceling because I was still in Lyon. She was rude and unfriendly, saying, “Oh no, I'm closing, it's getting late, sort it out with Booking.” The €70 fee was kept as “non-refundable,” even though I hadn’t caused the cancellation. I was left without a place to stay that night and had to book somewhere else in a panic. Madam manager, I hope you see this. You were rude, unfriendly, and completely unprofessional. Treating all your customers this way could get the place shut down.
