Clos La Chapelle

We spent three lovely nights here. The location is peaceful and handy for visiting the area, including Reims, and parking on site was easy. Marie welcomed us warmly. Breakfast, served in a cosy shared room, was generous, with homemade jams, fresh bread and croissants. There’s a beautiful garden and terrace, and our room had its own terrace too.

The rooms were clean and tidy, and the lady running the place was very polite and attentive. It’s a quiet, pleasant spot, with only a few rooms, perhaps five. I thought it was cute and original that they use women’s names for the rooms instead of numbers. Most of the furnishings are IKEA, so don’t expect traditional French decor. It may be a little overpriced.

A lovely, refined place to stay right in the heart of Champagne. The service was excellent, and there was a good choice of champagnes, including their own. Breakfast was delicious, and the fireplace was a real treat.

We had a great stay at Clos la Chapelle and couldn’t find fault with it. The hostess was charming and very helpful, and both the accommodation and food were excellent. There’s also a lovely walk along the canal nearby. We’d happily recommend it.
