Les bulles d'Ay - Studio

The vineyards looked superb, and the forest towards Reims was beautiful too. Sadly, when we visited in August the Champagne cellars were all closed for holidays before the harvest. We rented a recently renovated studio for two days; it was tastefully done and very well organized. Aurélien was an attentive and very helpful host. Ay is also ideally placed for visits to nearby Épernay and Hautvillers.

The host made us feel so welcome, and we had a really enjoyable stay. The accommodation was spotless and tastefully decorated. I’d happily recommend it.

We were six people visiting Ay for the Henry IV Festival, and the apartment worked perfectly for our group. Its central spot put us right in the middle of the festival, close to the champagne producers, with a bakery just two minutes around the corner. Inside, there are four bedrooms, three bathrooms, plenty of space, and very comfortable beds. The kitchen had everything, down to spices, crepe paper, and dishwasher tablets, and shampoo and conditioner were supplied in the bathrooms too. The fridge was especially thoughtful: free orange juice and milk, cold beer for €1 a bottle, and magnums of champagne from different producers priced between €25 and €50. Everything was in pristine shape, with no scratched walls or chipped furniture. We thought the accommodation and hosting were outstanding, an easy five stars.
