The dinner prepared by Bastien and his team was magnificent. We spent a lovely couple of nights here while exploring the Azay-le-Rideau area. Émilie was so welcoming and accommodating, even with my limited French. Definitely worth including as a destination.

Breakfast was homemade, high quality, varied, and served at the table with real grace and professionalism. Thanks for sparing us the horror of a buffet. The three new “comme une cabane” rooms are spacious, stylish, and thoughtfully designed. We paid €210 a night in summer and felt it was money well spent. The family-run restaurant, with rooms, sits in a quiet agricultural setting known for its inviting local apples and pears. It’s excellent, and starred. We’ll be back!

The staff were lovely and explained everything in English, and they handled my dairy allergy without any trouble. Every bite of the meal was packed with flavor, and I loved everything we ordered. It was the best meal of my whole trip, well worth the drive. The place feels like a calm, quiet little paradise. We stayed a while after lunch to enjoy the nature and scenery, and I’d consider staying there next time. Reservations are required. They replied to my email and helped arrange a booking. Dinner wasn’t available, but we got lunch.

The nine-course dinner at the Michelin-star restaurant was incredible from start to finish. Fiona, our main waitress, was friendly and professional, explaining every dish in detail and making us feel welcome. The pastry chef came out to describe the desserts, including a lovely tribute to her farmer father. For the final course, they brought an extra dessert and a plate with “Congratulations” written in chocolate for our recent anniversary. Breakfast the next morning was fresh and generous, just like the rest of the stay. We stayed in a separate, well-appointed room with fresh renovations, tasteful decor, a refreshing shower, and a furnished patio looking out over the animals. The hotel spaces were impeccably clean, beautifully decorated, and clearly newly renovated. It’s set on a large working farm growing the apples and pears in the hotel’s name. A vocal donkey and two peaceful goats greeted us outside. Thank you for a wonderful trip! Andrew and Laurel

We’ve eaten at a famous historic two-star restaurant in Paris, and in our view that meal didn’t come close to Auberge Pom’Poire. Every course was fresh, inventive, full of flavor, and delicious, with no mediocre ones at all. It made for a perfect summer meal celebrating French and seasonal ingredients. Service was warm and friendly, and the tucked-away Loire valley countryside setting is gorgeous. The food was stunning. Book a table here right away!
