Hotel les Cigales

Hotel Les Cigales was clean, comfortable, and in a great spot near the sea and main attractions. The atmosphere felt warm and welcoming, and we felt cared for as soon as we arrived. The staff were very friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile and good recommendations. We had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Nice.

Sebastian and Elaine (sp) took extra care to make my last-minute visit happen, and I appreciated that. But I paid far too much per night compared with their online rates. I was exhausted from traveling and didn’t feel like looking elsewhere, so I paid it. The room was tiny, with two twin beds and grimy-looking, odd flooring. It was by the elevator, so it was noisy, and all the doors slammed shut horribly. When I left, I had to track down a staff member to get my $20 parking card deposit back. She was in the kitchen area, probably multitasking.

It was my first solo holiday, so feeling safe mattered most, and the hotel met that need. My room felt secure, and the staff were kind and around whenever I needed them. The location made it easy to get to shops, restaurants, the promenade, and transport on foot, while the street itself was fairly quiet. A special thank you to the woman on the late or overnight shift. She noticed it was my birthday and let her daytime colleagues know, so they wished me a happy birthday. She also arranged a complimentary Prosecco and macarons. That personal touch made the stay feel extra special. I’d very happily stay again.

Everything else was great. In January, the A/c heating was only just adequate on max, but it was OK sooner under the bed.
