Residence Tonduti

My friends and I booked two apartments for the weekend. Our flight was canceled, so we couldn't arrive on Friday as planned. The accommodation wasn't required to compensate us, but they didn't offer anything for the stay of less than one night. When we got there on Saturday, the apartment wasn't properly clean. A folding table we opened to eat together was covered in dust. There was barely enough toilet paper, hand or body soap, or shampoo for the weekend, and the towels had turned gray rather than white. The folded sheets inside my sofa bed were damp, so I had to sleep with a scarf instead. At those prices, that's unacceptable. They did let us check out late, though I don't know whether that was meant to make up for the problems or happened for some other reason. There isn't a reception desk or anywhere to leave luggage. The building entrance was under construction, dusty, and unattractive. The location was fine, but I wouldn't recommend it.

We spent four days there and were out most of the time, so the apartment was adequate, but it cost too much. The small terrace was a nice spot for breakfast for the two of us, even though it faced the courtyard and other balconies. Getting in was a little awkward: two gates, then around the courtyard to the first-floor apartment, with no elevator. The gates only open with a chip, which at least felt secure. We picked up the key at a very good grocery store with great baguettes and fruit. We never saw the hostess, but she was always reachable on WhatsApp. From the airport, you can buy a €1.50 ticket each way at the machine and take line 2 towards Port Lympia for about 13 stops, around 25 minutes. From there it's under 5 minutes to the shop for the key, then another 5 to the apartment. On foot, it's about 10 minutes to both the shopping area and the beach or old town, with plenty of food and supply shops nearby. The kitchen was spacious and very well equipped. The A/C worked well, though it switched off and on at intervals, and there was a second unit above the bed that you could adjust yourself, including its temperature or whether it was on. Upstairs, the landing was unusable for us, though it could have held another sofa bed. The bed pulls out of a piece of furniture on the top floor, and because we left it open, we had to climb over it to reach the shower. It was really hard, but we were so tired that it actually helped, haha. The shower was a great size, though its drain was slow. The sofa in front of the TV pulls out into a bed and has an odd shape, so it wasn't comfortable to sit on. There was one broken plate, the Wi-Fi wouldn't let us stream, and we had to buy more toilet paper ourselves. The upstairs bed was too firm, the shower drain needs replacing, and the sofa bed should be replaced too.

From the courtyard you can see a bit of greenery and a lovely orange tree 🍊🌴🌱. The place is well situated for a pleasant stroll through Nice before reaching the sea and the Promenade des Anglais 😎.
