I’d stayed here quite a few times over the years and had always been happy with it until this visit. The room had rubbish left by the previous guest, and there was hair everywhere, including in the bed. It had been cleaned, just not properly. I suspect staff are being pushed to rush through rooms, and then things like this get missed. The hotel should treat its employees better. They’ve lost me as a customer.

Bed bugs. That’s the short version. I only needed a bed for one night and didn’t expect much. I rarely post reviews and I’m not fussy, but people should know about the hygiene. The breakfast dishes and the toilet seat in the room weren’t clean, and I woke up with bites all over my legs. I know bed bugs can happen in hotels, but please inspect the rooms and don’t keep booking them when there are signs or complaints.

There’s no shuttle between the hotel and the airport, which is a real hassle when you have bags or an early flight. Campanile Prime is advertised as an airport hotel, but getting there from the terminal means a long walk with poor signage and no clear directions. Terminal 2 is especially far and frustrating with luggage, about 1 km and 20 minutes each way. If easy access matters to you, I’d avoid flying from Nice Airport and look at an airport with better transport and places to stay.

The restaurant and lounge are surprisingly large, and the place seems set up to be a 4 or 5 star hotel while still feeling stuck at 3. The rooms are small, but they compare well with 4 star hotels, and I’ve stayed in much worse ones. The air conditioning worked well, and the shower was quite good. Food was the letdown: dinner was lukewarm at best, and breakfast was very basic, functional rather than tasty.
