A warning for Brits considering renting this place: the owners require an unusual kind of insurance called a "garantie/assurance villégiature". It means the renter has to take out a policy covering the landlord’s property. Apparently French people commonly have this included in their household cover, but it isn’t something available in the UK, so it’s very hard to obtain.

The estate is in a great spot, within walking distance of the village and its many restaurants, and well placed for exploring the castles and vineyards. We could park our car and bicycles safely inside the enclosed grounds. The pool is small, but fine for a refreshing dip. Cottage du Parc was spotless, everything was in tip-top order, and all the modern comforts were there: a lovely shower, beautiful bath, plenty of towels, air conditioning, washer, dryer, and even laundry products. Highly recommended!

The surrounding castles are close enough for short visits. My friend and I had a wonderful stay in this area, in an exceptional setting with refined decor that had been thought through down to the smallest detail.

Our cottage was spacious and simply perfect, with a big living room, elegant decor, and a fully equipped kitchen. We spent eight peaceful days at the beautiful Plessis Gallu estate, walking, visiting places, and tasting wine. The welcome was warm, the owners were incredibly attentive, and their advice on where to stay and what to visit was excellent. We’ll definitely return, and I highly recommend this lovely place. The gîte was beautifully decorated, truly exquisite. It’s a magical place, perfectly placed for visiting Azay-le-Rideau and the Loire Valley châteaux. The village of Azay and its restaurants are an easy walk away. Thank you!
