Le Colombier de Bach

After a long day on the GR 65, our hosts greeted us with refreshments and went out of their way to work around our dietary restrictions. We had a fantastic stay, with a chef-prepared dinner and a hot breakfast. The room was spacious and clean, and the broad grounds were neatly kept. This is how to run a “Chambre d’Hote”. It was our best stop on the Route so far, and I'd highly recommend it.

We stayed six nights, and it was the highlight of our road trip through the Southwest of France, Andorra, and Barcelona. Raymond and Chrisje are wonderful cooks. Breakfasts featured local, homemade ingredients and treats, while dinner felt like Christmas, with a special aperitif, several courses, local cheeses, and dessert. The pool was a godsend in summer. Colombier de Bach is also surprisingly well placed for easy day trips to Rocamadour, Cahors, Gouffre de Padirac, Grottes de Cougnac, Gourdon, Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, Cordes-sur-Ciel, Albi, and plenty more. The accommodation was very clean, the wifi worked excellently, and there was parking on the premises. The dogs and cats made friendly, alert security guards.

The wonderful meals and the way Chris and Raymond looked after us made our Camino Podiensis stay unforgettable. That hospitality was the best part of the trip.

A lovely quiet stay, with spacious, comfortable rooms, a great dinner, and a breakfast with plenty of variety. Our multilingual hosts were fantastic. Saying goodbye was the hardest part. Perfect.
