Hôtel La Mandia

The hotel is well placed for getting to the ski slopes, and the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. We chose bed and breakfast, which was a good call. There was plenty of choice at breakfast, and the food was good. A few things explain my four stars, though none spoiled our holiday. The hotel could use some refurbishment, especially the very tired access area to the ski lockers. After two years of Covid restrictions, I can imagine the budget for that may be tight. The bartender was lovely, but some drinks on the menu weren't available. Finding the hotel part of the complex could be clearer for first-time visitors. We arrived in dense fog and ended up at the back of the building. Even from the front, the signs aren't great. Still, we'd come back. Thanks for the care and attention.

Ski in, ski out, and the location could hardly be better. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the restaurant was good, and the bar had a superb atmosphere. Undercover parking made things easy. Glad to recommend it, and we plan to return.

The room was a decent size, the view was good, and the hotel is right on the slopes, which is a great location. The reception staff were great too. The hotel's outdated decor and fittings didn't bother me since we were there to ski. What ruined our night was the Valentine's Day dinner. We'd booked in the restaurant, then waited 40 minutes for anyone to take our order. Other people who arrived later already had their starters while we were still waiting. They had one waiter who spoke English, but he was too busy to even look our way. We spoke to reception about the wait, yet the waiter went to a new table instead. We ended up eating elsewhere. I can't give the hotel more stars when that kind of disregard is unacceptable. A shame.
