Hotel & Spa Gasquet

The spa was fantastic, well heated, and the masseuse was exceptional. That, along with the friendly staff, is why I’m giving the hotel four stars instead of three. The owner was helpful and responsive, and the location is very good. Parking is a bit tight if you have a larger car. Our room wasn’t bothered by noise, but the bathroom lacked electrical outlets, and the shower water swung from very cold to very hot without us touching the taps. The restaurant waitresses were friendly and service was quick, though the sides were very average: just a few baby potatoes and a green salad with cheap dressing. Breakfast wasn’t substantial, but the croissants were very good.

The room was spacious and very clean, and the Hotel Gasquet has a lovely atmosphere. We stayed two nights and ate there both evenings. The food was very good, with a good selection. We also enjoyed the spa and a massage. The masseuse came directly from Thailand and was very professional.

The waitress was so warm and lovely, but the dining room was freezing. We came for lunch and found the meal overpriced for eight new potatoes and watery, frozen mussels au gratin. I know it’s an old hotel, but it really could use a thorough clean.

That Thai massage after skiing was incredible, and the bar had a good selection too. We spent three nights at Hotel Spa Gasquet for a ski trip, and its spot in Luchon made getting to the slopes convenient. The rooms were clean and pleasant, a little small but functional, and the staff were friendly and efficient. I also liked the family-run atmosphere. The owner shared the hotel’s story across generations, which made the stay feel special. I’d absolutely recommend it :)
