Résidence du Lac

The residence is in a great location, and this studio apartment has a beautiful view over the lake and casino. The ground-floor corridors are showing their age and could use some freshening up.

I could even picture myself living in Bagnoles de l’Orne. It's one of my favorite little towns in the region, with flowers everywhere and a welcoming feel. There are charming shops, a casino and a racetrack, and it's lovely to wander around the park with an ice cream or unwind with a spa treatment.

The staff are very welcoming, and the location is convenient, with parking, bike storage and shops nearby. But I strongly advise against staying at the RESIDENCE DU LAC. It's noisy: you can hear TVs and neighbors snoring, and the floorboards are poorly soundproofed. The 4th floor isn't the top floor, since the maid's rooms are also used for sleeping and storage. Animals relieve themselves on the carpet in the common areas near the bathrooms. The street side is noisy, while the lake side gets hot and sunny from the south-facing exposure. If you don't hear well, be careful.

The Belle Époque character makes this place magnificent. Residents have parking, there's a caretaker and an elevator, and there's a doctor on the ground floor. I didn't need to see the doctor, so I can't say whether a consultation would have been possible.
