Nouvel Hotel

We used it as a base for cycling, and that worked well. Our room was great and had a balcony, though there was no heating for cold nights. The hotel looks lovely and is in a great location, but the lack of meal options let it down a bit. There’s a bar, but it didn’t seem to be open.

Breakfast in the conservatory overlooking the garden was good, and I really enjoyed my stay. The hotel is elegant, understated and perfectly clean. My room had a comfortable bed and good Wi-Fi, and the enclosed garden was a pleasant place to sit, relax and read. The lady and gentleman at reception were lovely and helped with everything I needed. It was peaceful and quiet, and the other guests respected social distancing and didn’t make excessive, unnecessary noise. I’d recommend it to anyone who likes quality, a relaxed stay and a no-fuss setting. 😊

The staff were friendly, and the restaurant was gourmet level. I really enjoyed the petit déjeuner, too. It’s a beautiful, peaceful hotel and well worth a stay.

We stayed for three nights and would happily come back. It’s a very clean, typically French hotel, quiet and with parking, in a quaint part of Bagnoles. The central location also makes it handy for touring the Orne region.
