Le Cottage de Pontaly

We found the guide Cecile and her family prepared especially useful. It’s in French and English, with local amenities, travel details, and the family farm’s history and ethos. The setting is quiet, with scenic paths nearby for walking, wheeling, or riding a bike or horse. From the front door, house martins swoop over the courtyard while sparrows tempt the cats and the old dog watches calmly. Out back there’s a comfortable area, with stabled horses visible through a hedge. The ground floor is accessible, with a downstairs bedroom and ensuite shower, plus a toilet next door, suitable for a wheelchair user who can also walk short distances. Upstairs, two rooms each have an ensuite shower and share a toilet. The hosts are welcoming and easy-going, and we were happy with our stay at Ferme de Pontaly. We’d gladly recommend it.

A great place for a weekend away with the family, not far from Paris. Our family of three loved the rustic charm at Pontaly Farms and the chance to relax simply and comfortably. There are long scenic walks right from the farm. Cecile and Alex are friendly and happy to show visitors around their family farm and explain how it works. Versailles and other attractions are also nearby. It’s a fun way for kids to learn about farm life and animals. Highly recommended.

You get a lovely farm setting here, while Paris and Versailles are still close by. Wonderful place to stay.
