Château de Bois-Renault dates to around 1760-1770, when it was built for the Cartier-Roze family, a Touraine dynasty involved in the silk trade and unrelated to the Cartier jeweler. Their Roze company was founded in 1660 and is still the oldest silk manufacturer operating in France. Its 18th-century classical design includes a symmetrical main building, outbuildings, and a chapel. During the 20th century, it served first as a holiday camp, later as a bed and breakfast, and eventually as a reception venue. The property has been for sale since 2020.
