The beds were so hard I couldn't sleep, and the one-night stay felt like poor value for the high price. The campsite is very local and out in the middle of nowhere. We didn't use the cups, plates or glasses because they weren't clean. They were left on the dining table, and we had to count them against a list they gave us before we could leave. Someone came to recount everything at departure, even though we'd already paid a refundable deposit. It didn't feel like they trusted their guests.

There's plenty for kids to do, and the basic amenities are okay. The site can get noisy at times. WiFi is available around the bar and reception, though I could barely get a connection.

The area around Balleroy is beautiful, with lots of old sites to see. The campsite has a new owner, and 2017 was their second year running it. It's a quiet place with water and electricity, and the toilets were clean, though there was no toilet paper. Hot showers are free. There were hardly any foreign visitors.

The pitches are a good size, around 80-100 square metres, though their sizes are irregular, and the showers are hot. It's a friendly campsite with a heated pool, but the karaoke on Thursday nights was loud. Balleroy is a quiet town, and the site is peaceful. The town centre is a 5-10 minute walk away, with a small, overpriced supermarket and a great local boulangerie that's cheap. The Chateau has lovely gardens you can visit for E3, and the area is handy for exploring the Normandy coastline, including the D Day beaches. Good local cider, too.

Nice staff and a family atmosphere at this little campsite. Well worth a stay if you're in the area. Recommended.
