The food hygiene at breakfast really needs attention. Flies were crawling over the croissants and baguettes, which looked as if they’d been out for a while, and nothing was covering the food. Mesh covers, lids, or even cloths would help a lot. Our room was above the main building where people often sit outside, and cigarette smoke drifted straight up into it. That made the room uncomfortable, especially when we wanted to open the window. There are thoughtful touches, like the vending machines with local products, which support local producers and give guests something convenient and different. The hotel is in a beautiful building, and the surrounding area feels pleasant and well kept. It has potential, but guest comfort and breakfast hygiene need more care.

The meals were a highlight for my wife and me at Auberge Hôtel-Restaurant Erregunia. They were carefully prepared with fresh local products, and we loved the region’s authentic flavors. We left wanting more. The price also felt very reasonable for the food and service. The staff were so friendly and attentive that we felt genuinely valued, well beyond what we expected from a 2-star hotel. We had a memorable stay in Banca, and would happily recommend it to anyone visiting.

The staff were super welcoming, and the restaurant was very dog friendly. I had a beautiful dinner here. Make sure to try the lemon curd crumble dessert, it’s amazing!!!

The service was brilliant, and the restaurant serves proper local French food, the kind that’s hard to find these days. No fries, just a really nice meal. A hidden gem.
