La grande bleue

We loved how quiet the apartment was. It's small but had enough for our stay, with air conditioning and a beautiful view of the city and mountains.

The only small issue was sound coming through the apartment's front door. Since the other guests were polite and discreet, the hallway noise stayed tolerable. We really enjoyed our stay. The welcome was friendly, and the apartment was clean and spacious.

Banyuls is a charming little town, and before we'd even left we had decided to return in a few months for a longer stay. Our studio was clean and perfectly adequate for two nights. The manager was friendly and very helpful, answering our questions about Banyuls and sharing extra information that came in handy during our stay.

At first everything was fine. Then I asked about renting an apartment for the season, initially for five weeks. The owner saw my message but didn't answer, so I had to call. She said she didn't want to rent it for two months. She also gave my number to tenants without telling me beforehand, which felt completely disrespectful. After I decided to extend the rental to two months, she told me the day before it was supposed to start that she'd rather rent it to someone else. Not at all pleasant to deal with.
