The location right on the road is excellent, and breakfast was good with a decent variety. But the room was small, the bed uncomfortable, and the pillows and bedding really need replacing. The pillows were impossible to sleep on. The shower was awkward and very slippery, and the rooms aren’t soundproof, so you hear every movement in the other rooms. I’d only recommend staying here if there’s no better option.

I spent many days in the Pyrenees without a problem, until I stayed one night at this hotel. I checked in at 10:45 PM and found the floor sloped, so lying on the bed made me roll. The mattress and pillows were very uncomfortable, and there were no covers. After hiking or cycling, this is a terrible place to try to rest. At check-in, the woman wouldn’t charge the amount due, 96 Euros, and instead asked for a picture of my visa card. I called at 10:42 AM after waking up, but nobody answered. At 11:04 I called again to ask for a bottle of water, and they refused to bring one. We got a knock from the housekeeper saying she wanted to clean. We told her at 11:37 that we were about to leave. When I went down to check out at 11:49, the woman wanted to charge 150 Euros for a late checkout. She hadn’t told me the checkout time, and hadn’t mentioned it when I called at 11:04. I refused to pay 150 Euros. The receptionist yelled at me disrespectfully and tried to pressure me into paying. When I refused again, she said she’d call the police. I told her to go ahead, but she didn’t. That’s when I started to think it was a scam. A man showed up and sided with her, pushing me to pay 150 rather than 96 Euros. After a long conversation, they lowered the amount they were asking for, and we eventually agreed on something. When I paid, she said, “You’re horrible and you are not welcomed here.” I’ve visited more than 40 countries, and this was the first time anyone told me not to come again. If I return to the Pyrenees, I’ll definitely avoid this village and this hotel. I went there to relax in a beautiful area, but the hotel left me angry and unable to relax.

I was hungry in the middle of the day, with nowhere open for lunch, when I came across this little gem in the village center. I’d read some reviews and felt a bit unsure, but it turns out a young couple had taken over the place just a month earlier. They spoke English and had vegan food, dessert, ice cream, and “milk” shakes! 🎉❤️ The dahl was fabulous, and my friend who isn’t vegan was really happy too. Recommended. I’ll be back! ❤️🏔️🥘

A great little hotel right in the centre of Bareges, close to everything. The rooms are tidy, the beds are big, and the en suites are very clean. There’s a small kitchenette lounge for everyone to use. Breakfast was good, and it’s also a nice place for drinks, lunch, or dinner. We had a great stay!

Friendly, helpful staff who spoke English really well. We stopped at this lovely little hotel and restaurant to get out of the bad weather in the surrounding mountains. We considered staying the night, but it was a bit too expensive for us. They’ve had major upgrades recently, though, so I’m sure it’s worth the price.
