Hôtel de Paris

Our return boat was canceled, so we had to stay the night. The receptionist liaised with our travel company and made everything easy. The rooms were clean and comfortable, breakfast was good, and the bar prices were very reasonable. The staff did everything they could to make an unplanned stay more pleasant. Barneville itself has a good Saturday street market, and there’s a carrfour 4 minutes’ walk from the town centre. Taxis are cheap for nearby towns, and there’s a train to one of them. Nice hotel, helpful staff, and a good sociable atmosphere. I recommend Hotel De Paris for comfort and relaxation.

We’d come from Jersey on a day trip to Carteret and were in Barneville when a hotel employee told us our boat had been canceled. We were stuck overnight. She kindly liaised in french with the boat company for us and found rooms for all six of us. The rooms are simple, very clean, and have really comfortable beds. There’s no restaurant, but the continental breakfast, served from 830 - 10am, was very good. They also have a small bar and a garden at the back. The staff were so friendly and helpful, going out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. Barneville is a tiny town with only two restaurants and a Hypermarket, but it’s a great place to stay the night if you’re passing through. I’d highly recommend Hotel de Paris.

I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly. It was much quieter than I expected. A good base for exploring, or a good stopover if you’re travelling further.

Kept simple and clean, this hotel was well looked after and great value.
