Gte De Charme lOlivier

The peaceful, spacious garden, with its trees, pool, and barbecue, gave our group of 20 plenty of room to enjoy ourselves. The beautifully decorated rooms stayed pleasantly cool during the hot days, and the whole garden setting helped make our wedding weekend unforgettable. Thank you again, Virginia, for responding so quickly to all our last-minute requests. Elodie and Arnaud.

The breakfast was superb, and our host was kind and helpful. This spacious cottage near Uzès has comfortable beds and the peaceful, bucolic silence of the Gard countryside all around. A lovely choice if you enjoy that kind of calm.

The couch was easily the most unforgettable part of the apartment. The seat felt like concrete, and sitting with your back against it was somehow even funnier. Lying down brought a smell like old people and, well, a hundred-year-old sex joke. A friend who'd hurt his back after jumping from a 20-meter-high bridge blamed the couch instead, having lain on it beforehand. We laughed a lot, though the hosts probably didn't. The couch had no armrests, which somehow fit the whole experience. We arrived tired from the trip, and the apartment was a letdown after the promising photos. It was dirty, old, and smelled musty. There were killer bees in the stove, scorpions under the pillows, and crickets and spiders getting into our clothes. The 10 p.m. quiet rule seemed to be for guests only. The owners were on top of us, yelling at 9 p.m. to keep it down. A neighbor also couldn't stand us sitting outside after 8 p.m. and having a beer until 9:30. She ran to the car and kicked it, while her husband tried to calm her down. So much for French conviviality. Thanks for this wonderful experience, surrounded by bugs and sofas. Have a nice day!

We’ve come here for the second year in a row to spend long weekends before summer, and we found “the cottage” we were looking for. The farmhouse is magnificent, and the cottage and terrace are great. It’s quiet and relaxing, and Evelyne and Claude are welcoming and always available when we need something. We’ll return to this little corner of paradise.
