Hotel Le Manoir

Our camper broke down, so we needed a hotel very late. They were kind and helpful, and had a lovely room ready for us. It was bright, comfortable, beautifully clean, and well presented.

It’s a nice, clean hotel in a very, very old building. Our room was really small, though I understand that. I wouldn’t call it a romantic room. For that, you’d expect something special, like a bath in the bathroom and a few romantic touches. It could be better, and the room wasn’t very comfortable. The old heating made strange noises all night, and breakfast costs a little more than I’d expect. Still, if you like traditional, old-fashioned style, it’s a good place.

After a long day cycling from Basel, we stopped at this hotel because it looked nice. We’d just checked the price for one night online and asked the man at the desk to confirm it, showing him the price on our phone. He quoted us much more, picked up his phone, and started working on it. When we checked again, the room we’d just seen online was gone. Then he spent a long time on the phone, apparently talking with another potential guest, and ignored us. We felt disrespected, so we decided to leave.
