We got in at 1am and found a note showing us how to get to our rooms, which was a nice touch. The room was clean, the beds were good, and breakfast was included. There’s a lovely view and the town is lovely too. Even for just one night, we really enjoyed our stay.

The town itself is lovely, with pretty houses, flowers and decorations, and hardly anyone around. At the restaurant, the food is genuinely local. The tartiflette was amazing, and the salad came on a huge plate topped with cheese. Wow. If you’re unsure what you’ve ordered, ask the staff first. We saw two other tourists look pretty surprised by their dishes.

The food was good, but not great. The service was awful. When we came into the restaurant, the waiter saw us and ignored us for three minutes. All the waiters seemed depressed, and we waited more than an hour for our food. When we asked what was taking so long, the waiter answered angrily. I definitely wouldn’t recommend it.

We had a really good flammekueche and choucroute, and the price was very reasonable for two full meals, drinks, desserts and coffees. They even brought our dog a bowl of water :)

The fries are still the best on earth, even after all these years! The Tarte Flambée and burgers are worth trying too, and the price for the quality is decent for the region. The staff are really nice and personal. I’ll come back in a few years again :-)
