Camping les Restanques

We hadn’t booked, but the nice owners let us choose between two spots for our tent and car. They offer croissants and baguettes in the morning, and the restaurant serves 40cm pizzas for two in the evening. The toilet buildings were clean, and there’s a dedicated outdoor place to wash dishes. Good experience, not too expensive, and I’d recommend it.

It’s a large campsite, peaceful and with plenty of room to pitch a tent. A few things could be better, though: the toilets and showers, and the staff don’t speak English at all. The restaurant pizza was outrageously expensive, over 20€, when you could eat out for 12€.

The pitch we had was mostly rocks with no grass, so it was hard to secure the tent. Still, I’d recommend this campsite for its quality and price. It’s a quiet place even in August, with clean bathrooms and water warm enough for summer. The pizza restaurant is good and gets busy. The lake is a five-minute drive away, while the main bridge and canyon entrance take about 25 minutes to reach. It’s a nice base for the main spots in Gorges du Verdon.

We stayed here for four days, from 30-07-2017 till 2-08-2017, with my girlfriend, at campingspot 49. The camping itself was fine, but the employees were rude and didn’t speak English. Then we had a terrible experience with the dinner payment. They said the €37.40 EUR charge hadn’t gone through and had me try four more times. The machine declined it, but my banking app showed the payment had succeeded. They said they’d refund it the next day, but we still haven’t received anything. We called and tried to reach them without success. Don’t go here if you don’t want to get scammed! Nous avons été victime d'une arnaque ici! Nous attendons toujours l'argent.. terrible! Daan & Felice
