Hôtel Loreak

Getting into town was easy and inexpensive thanks to the bus stop right nearby, even though the hotel isn’t quite in the city centre. We took an Uber back after missing the last bus one night, and it was a reasonable €13. The room was spotless, with a comfortable bed and a lovely hot shower. Breakfast was great, and the woman at reception was so helpful about getting me gluten-free bread each morning. We had a wonderful stay and would happily return.

Breakfast covered the basics, though the buffet could have been replenished sooner when things ran out. A French hotel without baguette was a real disappointment. The staff were friendly, spoke English fluently, and checked us in smoothly. Our room was fairly spacious, apparently recently renovated, and clean and well kept. The beds were good quality, and the bathroom was tidy. It’s around a 15-minute drive from the city centre, traffic permitting. There’s ample parking inside the fenced grounds, including Tesla charging stations. A solid place outside the historic centre for a few days in the area or a stop along the way.

The bathroom was spotless, and the heating worked great. The room easily had enough space for two, and the bed was comfortable. Thankyou Loreak. I’ll be back!

The Tesla supercharger in the parking lot was a plus for us, and being close to the highway made this a convenient overnight stop on the way to our destination. The room had been renovated and was comfortable, with a clean shower room. There were a few places to eat nearby, including a nice salad place. If you’re visiting Bayonne, you might prefer somewhere closer to the old town.
