Chteau Saint Vincent

We had a great stay here. The chateau has a lot of atmosphere, the rooms are comfortable, and the hosts are warm and welcoming. It’s also very close to the centre of Bazas.

We were two women pilgrims from the US and arrived at 4:30 pm to find that neither our room nor bathroom had been cleaned. The host apologized and asked us to come back an hour later, but when we returned he still didn’t know whether the room was ready. It wasn’t. His email had mentioned the many restaurants in town for dinner, but since it was Monday every one was closed. We asked if we could eat our picnic in the large breakfast room, and he said no way, then started yelling at us. He called all pilgrims terrible and accused us of supporting Trump and destroying the world. I don’t know what made him so angry, but he might be better suited to another line of business.

Breakfast in the lounge had a rustic but elegant feel, and the room was comfortable. Dominique and Isabelle made my stay a delight. Lola, the golden retriever, greeted me with a smile as soon as I arrived. I highly recommend this lovely château!

The owners’ affection for this place and its authentic feel really come through. It’s a beautiful spot, full of goodwill and respect, and a real gem. I was pleasantly surprised and grateful for the hospitality. Whether you stay one night or longer, I’d say make as much time for it as you can. On my next trips to the area, I won’t stay anywhere else. Hope to see you again soon, Bernard.
