Auberge Saint Roch

We had attentive, friendly service and some great wine. The chef, who is the owner's son, loves Japan, and they have a wide range of Japanese and other whiskeys. The food is excellent, Michelin-star quality. This little gem will always be our lunch stop when we're in the area. Highly recommended!

We first came across this little auberge last year while staying nearby, and liked the meal and how friendly the owners were so much that we returned this year. We had two more excellent visits. Isobelle runs the kitchen, and her dishes are delicious. Johan takes care of the wines and chats with you when he's not too busy. We enjoyed the aubergine and chevre starters, and the lamb kebab, fish of the day, and beef were all good, too. Give this bijou auberge a visit, I'm sure you'll be glad you did.

Two people in our group of five had been before and recommended it, so we went for dinner. We chose the fixed menu, which was about €35. The food and service were both excellent, and there was a good range of local wines at sensible prices. We'd be glad to return if we get the chance.

The lunch set menu was very reasonably priced. I started with fois gras and muscat, which was top notch, then had the lamb. I've never had lamb this tender, and I still don't know how they cooked it that way. In the US, this quality would cost three times as much.
