La Belugue

We got to spend a day cooking and eating local food in the sunshine, surrounded by the Provençal countryside, with professional cooking instructor Kelly and her partner Philippe. I’d always imagined doing something just like this, and it really exists! Philippe first took us through a busy, lively outdoor market. Which town we visited depended on where Market Day was happening that day. After that, we headed to their quaint, authentic French villa and its wonderfully equipped professional kitchen. We got to play at being French chefs, making a multi-course meal with dessert and fresh local strawberries, in May no less. We lucked into pan-seared duck breast, and enjoyed good conversation, local wine, and the peaceful views across the fields. Kelly, an American-born world traveller now living in France, and native Frenchman Philippe were charming, engaging, and so capable. I was in awe, and a little jealous of the life they’ve made. Thanks and beaucoup congrats to them for finding and creating a little paradise in the hills of southern France.

Kelly and Philippe made us feel right at home, and their thoughtful local recommendations made getting around much easier. Their home is beautiful, with a peaceful outdoor area overlooking the neighboring vineyard. It’s a lovely place to unwind, and their care as hosts made the stay all the more welcoming. Highly recommended!

We picked La Belugue for two nights so we could explore this part of Provence and be near the lavender fields. It was a perfect choice. Kelly and Philippe are genuinely friendly, lovely people, and our room was very nice too. We were out all day, so we didn’t really get to enjoy the beautiful garden and pool.

La Belugue has a romantic, charming feel, and the breakfast was tasty and very French. Kelly and her family were so kind and fabulous ❤️ They also had amazing live music on the weekend. A++++, would definitely recommend the whole place!
