La Maison de Beaumont

I spent three weeks here as part of the artist residency programme while writing my latest novel. The quiet gave me time to think, get away from it all, and take gorgeous walks every day. The place is stunning, stylishly decorated, and has an incredible terrace for afternoons and evenings. I appreciated being able to cook for myself each night in the well-stocked kitchen, which even had complimentary olive oil and vinegar. The bathroom was spacious and clean. With good connections to other towns, including Aix, it’s a fantastic base for exploring the Luberon and enjoying Provence, whatever brings you here.

We spent a week at La Maison De Beaumont last August with our family of four, and it was magical. The house is an 18th century villa, renovated with the modern comforts we needed while preserving its 17th century roots. It sits in the heart of Beaumont, an authentic cobblestone village that feels untouched by time and the modern world. We explored the village, hiked through the picture perfect countryside, and visited nearby towns and villages, all easy to reach from the house. If the owners, Niki and Navid, happen to be there during your stay, you might get invited to an impromptu dinner party, a live concert with local musicians dropping by, or a special insider tour of the village.

I was lucky enough to spend a whole month in this wonderful place. The village felt like a fairytale, full of beautiful light, and there was peace and quiet, a cozy room, and good people. Everyone living in a big city should get to experience it. Let your thoughts settle, take in Provence’s beauty, and enjoy life.

The roof terrace was our favourite part, private and offering wonderful views. La Maison de Beaumont is tastefully renovated and beautifully set beside the church in this picturesque village. The accommodation was fairly basic, with no toaster or oven, but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. We never saw the hosts, though there were plenty of instructions for finding, entering, and leaving the property, so everything was clear. Very good value, and we’d definitely return.
