Coto Hotel

The female staff were very pleasant, and the hotel was clean. The small mustard pots are cheap. I chose this place because the wine festival tasting room is right across the street. Keep in mind there’s no staff from noon to 3 p.m. or after 9 p.m., so don’t forget your key. You also have to watch the hours for dropping off luggage.

There’s an automated check-in machine for late arrivals, which is useful. The rooms are a little small, and so is the bathroom, though it’s laid out well. The place is nice, but the private parking isn’t guarded. The sign saying they aren’t responsible for anything missing from your car doesn’t inspire confidence.

The main problem was the poor soundproofing, which meant other guests disturbed our sleep. The hotel is a little farther from Beaune’s old town than other places at similar prices, though still walkable. On the plus side, the air conditioning was top notch, and the free secured parking lot was a welcome change from other hotels. Clean, straightforward, and good value for money. It’s worth it for a stop in Beaune on the way elsewhere, but for a longer stay you’ll probably want to book somewhere else.

If you’re planning to charge your car, be aware the charger only works with a QR code, not a badge. That was a bit disappointing, as I’d hoped to charge there. For late arrivals, there’s a keycard dispenser available 24/7. The kids had nice bunk beds, and the rooms were nice. Breakfast was basic but okay, in a nicely decorated room.
